The fruit of the tomato is nearly taboo for microscopic examination because it is so watery. In face the fruit is mainly comprised of sacks of fluid pushed together looslely. With the microscope's higher power one can barely make out the cell shapes because the cells are large compared to the microscope's visual field . The surface of the tomato is another matter. The skin is distinctly organized . The cells of the skin are vividly clear.
