Among the mass of life in the stagnant water pool are three stand-out types, the ciliates, which seem so stable and organized in human eyes, the "wrigglers" which are usually flagellates struggling with motion, and the "glommers" that are bacteria who tend to congregate and are often seem wriggling in conjunction with others--like a cocktail party where conversation is required.
