Dearest All -- looking for something to read this summer? Well, check out this page, and support your fellow poets:

Summer Reading List

No, it's not your typical light romance fare. But that's not what poets take to read on the beach anyway. We take this stuff. That's why all those surfer dudes and volleyball players always look at us so funny.

Thank you, dear M.

Some deliciously titled books here, of course it will be winter reading for me, we're finally sensing the season and the chill is most welcome here.

I hope wilders post their reviews and feedback on these titles, it will make choosing so much easier!

Much love

Dearest Zef -- Yes, I forgot that it isn't summer for everyone. Obviously, so did Mr. Byrne. *LOL*

As to the books on the list, I think most likely any one of them is a safe bet. Just at first glance, I can highly recommend Kim Addonizio and Denise Duhamel. Though I haven't read the specific books by them that are listed, everything else I've read by these ladies is top-notch!

Happy reading!

Love,
M

Then that's where I'll start! Thanks M, and for my part I highly recommend:

CHERRYL FLOYD-MILLER:
Exquisite Heats

Aptly named.

I saw a title by Addonizio, not on this list, but it looked like something I needed. Bought it through the Wild page with some mad money from Wild's publishing program. It was Ordinary Genius. I thought it might help me get the genie out of the bottle. Many thanks for that opportunity to splurge on myself!

Thanks for the recommendation, Zef. I will definitely get that one. In fact, I think I'm going to be a very poor woman. And I will need a cart as big as a building to carry all my books around with me when I'm bag lady. I'll probaby end up buying them all. *sigh*

I'm so glad you were able to buy the Addonizio book for yourself, Laz. She definitely provides much entertainment and inspiration.

I guess it goes this way for me, ladies, if my home library is any indication:

"When I get a little money I buy books; and if any is left I buy food and clothes."

My new book came in the mail today! Just in time for my sojourn to my home town for our high school reunion. I'll have some time to myself to indulge in reading in-between some very odd moments I'm sure. If you want I'll review it when I know more about it. I think it's going to be just the right book for me at just the right time.
