Dear Poetry Aficionados,

Poetry & Poets in Rags blog

Doris Lessing has won the 2007 Nobel Prize in Literature. We headline in News at Eleven with the Los Angeles Times article on this event. Great Regulars Sarah Crown and Fiona Sampson, also write on Lessing for the Guardian.

If not for the Nobel, first click this week would have been the superbly-done Guardian story on Burmese writers, wherein they refer to imprisoned poet and comedian Zargana. And in Great Regulars, the Saturday poem is one of his.

Those paragraphs cover a lot of the world, but represent only a part of the territory covered in News at Eleven. Some of the articles are quite serious, but some fun, some with fine poetry, plus a couple muse-mixers. The rest is for your discovery.

Thanks very much for coming by.

Yours,
Rus
