Dear Poetry Aficionados,

Poetry & Poets in Rags

I need to begin by urging you to the end, our Poetic Obituaries, that is. You'll find some wonderful poetry, along with tributes to poets who have recently passed. It's always a sacred scroll though too. Also, I found a series going on at CBC called Poet of the Month. It's new for us in Great Regulars.

This week is packed with news. I had the durndest time trying to figure what to cut to make News at Eleven. The headliner, by the way, is an extraordinary three-part series of Ted Hughes's correspondence. In the middle is a gem, Loreena McKennitt singing Yeats, while the poem is discussed; it's time for Nobel oddsmaking; "Howl" is banned again; and much more.

If you are looking for an article on Robert Hass's new book, Robert Pinsky has that covered in Great Regulars. Looks like from the reviews, it's a good one. So, more should be coming in future weeks.

Thanks for clicking in. Stay together.

Yours,
Rus
