Dearest Membership -- I just wanted to take a moment to let you know that Poet's Market: 2008, the edition in which Wild Poetry Forum appears in an article entitled "Online Poetry Forums: A New Community for Poets," has been released and is now available for purchase by the public. You can probably locate it in a bookstore near you or you can purchase it through the WPF BookShop (available there at a significant discount from retail):

Poet's Market: 2008

You can find the article starting on page 192.

Of course, while I am certainly advertising the book because Wild is featured in it, that's not the only or even the most important reason. This book has been and continues to be one of the most valuable resources available to practicing poets who wish to submit their work for publication in both online and print journals. Having so many target markets for poetry available at your fingertips, along with specifications about editorial needs, contact information, submission guidelines, etc., will save you a great deal of legwork.

Thanks for your support. And our thanks once again to Editor Nancy Breen and her staff.

Love,
M (Administrator)

I was in Barnes & Noble on Sunday.

"Do you have Poet's Market: 2008?" I asked the clerk.

The woman glared at me like Torquemada preparing to condemn a heretic. Finally she spoke with unpitying finality: "No."

Dearest Freddie -- well, what the hell were you doing trying to find the book at Barnes & Noble? Screw Barnes & Noble. You can buy it here through the WPF BookShop and even with the shipping costs, it's still less than the $26.99 retail price.

You weren't trying to just read the article without buying the book, were you, Freddie? Nah, you'd never do that, huh? *LOL*

I went to the WPF bookstore and it wasn't listed yet.

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

Maybe I'm too impatient. It's probably there now.

Way cool, ~M~. The WPF shopping mall even has a movie theater and a video arcade. I went into the arcade and played Laura Bush vs. Sharon Olds (a real shoot 'em up game) for an hour. Alas, I spent all my money.

Can I borrow a quarter?

"Books A Million" tried to get me to autograph the copies they had there on sale...

:-)

I bought one and wondered if I was publish-worthy. Maybe some day when I get this poetry thing down..........and have time to pursue the nickel or two you get - ah, what we do for our art! ;-)

A nickel? That much!

Fred, you'll need more than quarters. If what a massage (wink, wink), dollars. And if a lap dance, lots of dollars.

Smiles.
