Dearest Membership – This announcement is being made to make you aware of some staffing changes upcoming here at Wild Poetry Forum. The following three long-term members of Wild have graciously accepted our offer to join the moderator team. We are certain they are going to make excellent staff members. Here is more information about these three unique individuals: Jim Doss – Effective Date: 4/12/07 – Jim joined Wild Poetry forum in December of 2003. He will be joining Lisa in moderating the BIOFEEDBACK forum. He was the driving force behind and head editor of the Poets Gone Wild Anthology. Jim was born and raised in Lynchburg, Virginia, in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains (yes, it is the home of Jerry Falwell and the Moral Majority, the place where Chapstick and Fleet enemas were invented, and nuclear power plants are designed; it is also the town where Althea Gibson and Arthur Ashe learned to play tennis, Desmond T. Doss internalized the Ten Commandments and Thomas Jefferson ate the “love apple” while building his summer home, “Poplar Forest”). In spite of majoring in business and computer science at UVa, Jim did manage to take some creative writing classes with Gregory Orr (featured in one of Wild’s challenges), Kate Daniels, and Sandford Lyne. His poetry, translations and short stories have appeared in journals such as Poetry East, Words-Myth, Poems Niedergasse, Loch Raven Review and numerous other publications. Along with Chris George, he co-edits the Loch Raven Review, one of the seven wonders of the web, and a damn fine e-zine that is always in search of first rate work. In his spare time, he is translating the complete writings of Georg Trakl, which can be found at www.literaturnische.de/Trakl/english/index-trakl-e.htm, and is the most comprehensive site on the web for all things related to Georg Trakl. He earns his living as a software engineer, and lives with his wife and three children in Maryland. You can contact Jim by writing jim@wildpoetryforum.com. Bren Gentry -- Effective Date: 4/16/07 – Bren joined Wild Poetry Forum in December of 2001. She will be moderating for us part-time and will float mainly between BIOFEEDBACK and SUBLUXATION, and the other forums as needed. She has been an active and treasured participant for so long we can hardly remember being without her. In her words, she is one of those dreaded vampires at work (which we hope means she’s a phlebotomist, as the alternative is pretty scary *LOL*), always searching for a good vein which is something like searching for the right word in poetry . . . impossible! Her hobbies are people watching, reading and listening very closely to the stories of other people. She comes from a long line of colorful folk and their images have kept her (nearly) sane for most of her life. She insists she learned almost everything she knows about poetry by being at Wild. We helped through her first poem and Lisa turned her on to cinquains. She opened her own board two years ago (one of our sister boards -- Pen Shells) and has been published online in Amaze the Cinquain Journal, Tryst, Niederngasse, The Rose and Thorn, The Women of the Web Anthology and Wild Poetry's Poets Gone Wild Anthology. You can contact Bren by writing bren@wildpoetryforum.com Gary Blankenship -- Effective Date: 04/20/07 – Gary joined Wild Poetry Forum in July of 2001. He will be joining me in moderating CREATIVE VISUALIZATION and Kathy in moderating SUBLUXATION, although we’re sure we’ll not be able to stop him from wandering through all the forums and exhausting himself. If it were not for Gary, Wild Poetry Forum would not be an IBPC (Interboard Poetry Competition) participating board as he was a staff member with them at the time he made us aware of this valuable resource. Gary is a retired federal manager who dabbles in poetry and publishing. He is CEO of Santiam Publishing and published the online journal, MindFire Renewed and its companion, FireWeed, both at www.mindfirerenew.com. Gary has been widely published on the web and in a variety of paper publications in the States and abroad, including in the Tanka Journal of Japan 2005 anthology, The Tanka Society of America Quarterly and the Seattle PI. His day is divided between stray cats, poetry forums, and chores. You can contact Gary by writing gary@wildpoetryforum.com. Each of their Wild-related mailboxes will be operational as of their respective effective dates if you need to write to any of them individually with problems or requests for assistance. Of course, they will also be receiving all mail (as everyone on staff does) addressed to moderators@wildpoetryforum.com which you may use if you need to speak to us as a group. Thanks for your attention, folks. If anyone has any questions regarding these staffing changes, please don’t hesitate to write us at adminwpf@wildpoetryforum.com. Please join us in giving them a big Wild welcome to their new positions. We thank them all most sincerely for being so generous with their time, skills, and hearts in order to benefit all of us! Love, M (Administrator) |

Thanks you all, I'm very excited! What I said in my Bio about learning at Wild is true and the learning never stops. This is the best poetry board on the web. If I'm not in my Shell this is the only other place that I want to be. : ) |

Yipee, Yahoo, and Way Cool Beans!!! Welcome Jim, Bren, and Gary as fellow Moderators. I have learned so much from each of you, I wouldn't have hung around WILD and become a moderator myself without all of you! K You're invited to: Wild Flowers The bricks of language.
