Dearest Membership -- Yes, even in the middle of all this insanity, we're still attempting to attend to regular business. WPF is currently on the hunt for at least one (perhaps two) new moderators. If you would be interested in fulfilling this type of role for us, we'd like to talk to you. This person(s) would: 1. have some history with us, let's say a membership that extends back at least six months (though we'll be flexible about this for the right candidate) 2. solid poetic skills (prior experience as a moderator at some other board is a plus) 3. enough time to commit to moderating duties each week (probably around 4 hours a week, though at times it may be more -- not often less) 4. an open and social personality, great people skills, and the willingness to help other members 5. infinite patience and levelheadedness (or if not infinite, then at least an amount equal to pi *LOL*) 6. the ability to tolerate admin's warped sense of humor If this describes you and you are interested in moderating for Wild, please drop us a note at adminwpf@wildpoetryforum.com. Put "Hey, I wanna be a mod!" (or something equally arresting) in the subject line. As to what you actually say in the e-mail, that's up to you, but telling us your prior experience would help (adding a joke we haven't heard wouldn't hurt either). There's no deadline for contacting us. If we fill the position before we hear from you, we'll put your application in a file for the next time we need to add more mods (which, at the rate Wild is growing, might not be that far in the future). Thank you to all who might express an interest in becoming a part of our illustrious staff! Love, M (Administrator) |

Oh, did I forget to mention that the position pays like a bizillion dollars an hour and you get a company car with a siren and flashing lights on top in the shape of a purple panny party hat? No, I didn't mention that? Good. Love, M |

Hmmmm. Offering the new hires perks? I think I need to call my union rep. LOL. I'm thinking double my salary and access to the corporate jet. Seriously, being a moderator here is an incredible experience. If you have any questions about moderating, drop me a line. xo ljc Once in a Blue Muse Blog LJCohen

Dear M - I believe I have all of the above skills and qualifications (esp. that infinite patience part, though not sure about the level-head thing) except for #2. Therefore, I would like to submit my application for next lifetime, when I come back as a poet who actually knows something about poetry! Meantime, if you need a good housekeeper, dog-lover, art therapist, or doormat - I'm your woman! Sorry I can't help ~~~ (-;= |
