Dearest Membership -- for those who are not yet aware, we were indeed hacked again early this a.m. All profiles were affected this time, but we have restored them. Please attempt to post and check to make sure your membership is working properly. If it is not, post a note in this thread or write to us at adminwpf@wildpoetryforum.com. If you were approved this past weekend, your profile has been lost and cannot be restored. Please contact us and we will work with you to re-create your profile. A few poems may also have been lost. If you find your work has been deleted, please re-post it. At this point, we feel that we have restabilized Wild and she is back on course. However, don't be surprised if there are still a few bumps here and there. Since this hacking has occurred three times, each time at approximately 1:00 a.m. on Monday morning of each week, we suspect that the hacking is due to a virus profile (robot) rather than an individual person(s). Though even robots have people behind their design, the hacking may not be personal or targeted solely at Wild. We have talked to our server host about this and will be in contact with them again. steve and I will be leaving in a few hours to run on up to Seattle to attend Teresa White's book release party. We will be returning sometime tomorrow. We will be taking the laptop with us and will try to respond to any other problems as quickly as we can. However, please be patient if you must wait a few hours for a response from us. We will keep you updated as we learn more information about this. Please know that we are doing everything possible to ensure that this hacking is stopped and that Wild goes back to a relatively sane environment that you can depend on. Wait a minute -- sane? Let's just admit Wild will probably never be sane, but it would be good if she was at least dependably there sporting that lampshade on her head. Love, M & s |

Man, this bites! Glad we're back up and running, though. I hate to see my baby attacked this way. I thought she was all grown up and safe. At least she's got the best virtual guardians on the planet! Love, Michelle (Jag) P.S. My profile is fine, too. |

Now "Naturopathy" and "Hypnotic Suggestions" are appearing at the top of the topics page, as well as at the bottom. Very strange and very hackish. Fred |

Through the looking glass again this morning. I got this friendly message when I tried to edit my profile: Open[r] file error File [10521-tree.txt] has zero length in reading for [read_tree]! Please contact Admin & Moderators if this problem persists. I think the borogaves got loose again. Jana

Hi M Very sorry to see you appear to be continuing to experience the hacker problems. I wonder if it might be time to look into new software such as vBulletin® which a lot sites appear to be using these days? Chris |

Did the forum subjects get rearranged, or is it just me? I thought Essential Oils was the second one and it took me a second to find it. |

You are probably working on this but there is something wrong with the post Beached in CV. "When I sense an electrical charge around a person, event, or place I know there's a poem in it" ~ Susan Goldsmith Wooldridge Poetspennies eBay Window

Unfortunately there's not a lot I can do from my end about this--M and Steve need to investigate this on their end. My speculation is that there is some piece of malicious code that got inserted in our message board scripting and it keeps mucking up the works. It's probably not 'personal' to Wild, but an opportunistic virus. And given that M and Steve live on the US west coast, they're still probably sleeping. Please be patient and we'll try to get to the bottom of this all. best, ljc Once in a Blue Muse Blog LJCohen

My speculation is that there is some piece of malicious code that got inserted in our message board scripting and it keeps mucking up the works. I know you're right Lisa after clicking on Laura's post from this AM. It's an ad for different things, (reads like a newspaper)Somewhere in that code is the answer I'll bet. Steve may be able to turn it around if he can find the right code. I hope so anyway but it will take time. |

I have reposted the Beached poem. I sure hope this wasn't somehow triggered by my post..it was made at around 2 a.m. last night (Monday), which I just realized is the "witching hour" for this hacker/spambot. I will not post at that time of week again! |

Hi again guys - tonight I keep getting the "restricted" notice when I try to post. It happened in CV and also when I tried to use the smilies. Weird. I'm sorry to bother you again... Thanks~~ penny (-:= Let us so live that when we come to die even the undertaker will be sorry. - Mark Twain.
