Dearest Membership -- for those who are not aware, we were hacked last weekend (3/18). One of the consequences of that hacking is that your profile might have been affected. What we've been seeing is that membership level and number of posts have been reduced to zero. This does not apply to everyone. Only random profiles were hit. Also, some people's profiles have disappeared entirely. As a result they are not able to post at all. If this has happened to you, let us know. We'll be happy to correct the error and set your membership or posting level right again. But we can't look through everyone's profile individually and see if you've been affected. That would take too long. We're depending on you to make us aware. Just mention it here in this thread or drop us a note at adminwpf@wildpoetryforum.com if you can't post at all. We'll get to it ASAP. Love, M |

Hi M My profile appears intact but many thanks for the alert. I am sorry for members who have either lost their profiles or their posting privileges and hope all can be restored shortly. I think it is despicable that people get pleasure from attacking worthwhile websites. It is a sorry state of affairs in modern society. Thanks for letting us know, M. Mine was affected, obviously. But at least I am able to still sign in under my name. Ha. I spoke too soon. Seems it's been corrected, my profile. Cool! |

Dearest Marty -- so sorry about that. I believe steve updated your posting level. Please test this by posting something here and see if the post number and member title read correctly. If they don't, we'll continue to check into it. Love, M |

Sorry to hear about tha hack dearest. One day we'll be able to trace these evildoers down and make then recite the Internal Revenue Code as punishment (you can see that I am fond of tax time). My profile is all hunky dory and I am fully in tact(less). xo E Word Walker Press

Were we hacked again Sunday morning around 2:00 A.M. PDT? The system was acting VERY strange. I posted a poem which was not there this morning (neither was the reply from Jim Corner, though it did show up in my email this morning.) When I clicked on my own poem during the strangeness, I only got a bunch of computer code: no text. I also made a comment to Vienna's poem, and it came through as a double post, the first version of which I could not edit because the prompt told me I wasn't the one who'd posted it. When I went to the topics page, I could only see the masthead at the top. All the individual headings were missing. I closed WPF a couple of times and came back in through the home ENTER page, but could never get the topics on the topics page until this A.M. Fred |
