Dearest Membership -- Fred noted this problem: "What I'm noticing is that the TOPICS on the main forum page no longer have new post alerts on the left. These have been missing for about two days." So, we assume that if he is experiencing this, so are many others. The answer to this one could be your history files (this is only steve's hypothesis at the moment as he cannot prove it definitively -- it will become a theory when it starts working for you). When you go back and forth among pages, often your computer will go to the history files and recall that page. Your history files may not be pointing to www.wildpoetryforum.com, but rather the IP. In that case, your computer is pulling up old info from the old IP. The solution might be to clear your history files. Theoretically, this should bring everything to a zeroed state (no, Fred, before you ask -- zeroed is not a new state in the union). That way when you start clicking on pages, the pages that get stored in your history file will be from our new IP, not our old one. Another solution is to keep hitting the refresh button on your browser, but this gets a little annoying after a while as you have to do it every time you move from page to page. Try it and see what happens. If you or your computer blow up or start exhibiting weird growths or behaviors, don't try to blame or sue the administration of WPF. We just give out the advice based on our hypotheses. We do not take any responsibility for what happens if you are silly enough to listen to us. *grin* Love, M (Administrator) |
