Dearest Membership -- as you are all probably noticing by now, some very funky things are happening with posts, usernames, etc.

The reason that some people are posting but the posts are appearing under other members names and titles is a bit complex, but we think we've fixed it. I won't go into all the why's and wherefore's, but we think we're past that now. It was an indexing problem. New system using old post numbers. We had to post enough new messages (which steve did) to get past the old numbers. So, this problem should be solved. *crossing fingers*

As for members' usernames/passwords not appearing automatically in the box, your computers have to reset their cookies. Which in essence means that you have to post in every forum to set the username/password in that forum. For instance, if you're posting here in ESSENTIAL OILS for the first time since the switch, you'll have to enter your username/password in the boxes. That will set it for THIS forum. However, when you go to another forum (BIOFEEDBACK, for instance), the username/password will have disappeared again. Just keep posting in all the forums that interest you and this problem should go away. If it doesn't, let us know.

Oh, and for safety sake, make sure your bookmarks are updated. To do this, close the Wild window. Open a new window. Enter www.wildpoetryforum.com manually into the address line of your browser. When you get to Wild, re-bookmark us to your favorites. Close the window again. Open a new window and use that bookmark to come back to Wild. This should reset your bookmark and prevent a lot of funky stuff from happening.

If anyone has any questions about any of this (or you notice some other problem you think we don't already know about), post them here or write us at adminwpf@wildpoetryforum.com. We'll get to the problem as soon as we can.

Sorry about the blips, folks. Things will be a bit bumpy for a few days until everyone (and the system) gets into the swing of things. And please know that we're still working hard behind the scenes to smooth out the bumps. Please trust that we are dancing as fast as we can. Thanks for your patience through this transition.

Love,

As for the lack of mail, we've checked into this and there's nothing wrong with the automatic mail feature that we can see (we are getting mail returned to us from user mailboxes that are no longer valid, so obviously the mail is being sent). We suggest that you wait a couple of days. The mail problem might be a slowdown on the delivery end, not on Wild's generating it.

However, we are still looking into this as we could be mistaken in our assumptions. We'll update you if and when we find new information about the mail.

M, What a rollercoaster for you and Steve!

I noticed that some posts from Monday have vanished, should we just repost them or will they show up under someone elses username somewhere else on the board? LOL.

Dearest Kathy -- steve has just said that he's updated all he had. You need to be more specific. Exactly what posts would these be? Thread title and the member who posted it would help. But even then, we can't promise anything. If the threads were posted at the exact same time steve was updating, those posts were lost.

We apologize for this. If you are affected by missing posts, please feel free to re-post the missing thread. They shouldn't show up as posts by someone else as we think we've fixed that, but one never knows.

OK -- We will call this new game Musical Username. We think you've all posted under your own names long enough. It's time to switch with someone else! *hahahahaha* Sorry, we're really doing the best we can.

M

Auntie M - I, like Kathy, have noticed a few missing, including mine "Recommittment to Remembrance", but I want to make your lives as easy as possible, so if that means we should just repost, that's what I'll do! It's like 2 clicks away, just let me know what you prefer.

Many many thanks to you and Steve for all you do in keeping this place the wonderful sanctuary that it is.

Love,
Carin

Dearest Carin (and anyone else who might be affected by this problem) -- Just re-post, hon. If a duplicate shows up later, we can always remove it. Oh, and you're welcome. Sorry for all the snafus, but there's only the two of us (well, really only steve -- I'm just busy reporting and answering queries) working on all these issues.

Sorry for the trouble of having you guys re-post. But it saves us search time and allows us to work on other pressing problems. Like missing mail. We're getting quite a few notes on that issue. People want their mail, damn it! *grin*

Hey, guys -- consider us the U. S. post office at the moment. Maybe we'll deliver your mail, maybe we won't. We're sittin' around filin' our nails, drinkin' martinis and tryin' to decide. Who do ya' think we are, anyway? Fed Ex or something?

Just kidding. steve's back in the mailroom even as I type this, buried under thousands of letters trying to find the mailroom guy responsible for the screw-up. This is what I get for paying those mailroom guys minimum wage. Bunch of no-good layabouts, that's what they are!

M

Dearest All -- steve worked dutifully all afternoon (until he walked out the door to work again) on the mail thing. We think we have it worked out this time. You should start receiving mail again normally. Which means you will only get mail on new postings (from now forward), not ones from the last two days when things were still screwed up.

If people who were having or noticing this problem with mail could come back here and let us know that it's working now (i.e., if you start to get mail the way you requested from certain forums, from your own posts, etc.), we'd appreciate that. We can only send tests to our own accounts, we can't see what's happening to the rest of the membership.

Hopefully, we have most of the major issues resolved now. Let's see what else breaks or goes bonkers. *sigh*

Love,
M

M, I'm still not sure what happened. Were you trying to fix the wheel or something?
Best, Kathryn, who is very untechnical

Dear Kathryn -- Nope, hon, not trying to fix the wheel. Only get Wild more space and better operation. We just underwent a change to a new server. Read all the details here:

Changing Servers

If you have any further questions (or experience any problems), just let us know.
