And here's another photo from Deborah Kolodji of her lunch date on the Saturday before the reading with Emusing, Alice, and Mr. B. That's Mr. B's book in the picture. Go on over to the BookShop and order one right away! Many thanks to Deborah for the photo. Love, M

Dear all where were therer and not- I have no pictures that are as good as these and it appears that I exceed every known gig limit in cyberspace. I apologize that it has taken me so long to say how perfect this experience was. Yes, WPF is a community and yes what takes place on tthe boards is wonderful, but it is something to share air, to feel M's passion in the room, to listen to Steve and Lois read, to imbibe Mr. B's presence, Deborah's tiny potent verses and see Sis smile - she lights up the room with wattage. The only thing missing from these "Mostly True Tales" is what happened at the reading on Monday night. E made it harder on herself with an introduction straight from the heart about the Wild, what it has meant to her and all that she has learned from her generous mentors - M, Sis, ljc and the other wonderful poets. Then Sis and M got up and talked about the world within this world that is WPF and how on-line forums work and how writers can work together on craft, that it is a safe place for poetry comes from places so tender one must respect its origins even as it is shaped, that there is no meanness in this world and that it is a labor of love. Thank you. Thank you. The purple pantie party hat fits! Carol |

Oh, delight!! FACES!!!! You all look so... poet-y!! Thanks so much for these wonderful pictures. My! I even see the ever elusive M! I was certain she must have a third eye or two noses, but no... she's adorable, panties and all!(love the ever-present animal print, hon!) Wish I could have been there with all of you gorgeous (and handsome) writers! hugs~dale

Ahh! These pics and words are just wonderful! Y'all looked like you had a blast. I think the pic where Deb and E "disavow" is really about how they are discussing whether or not to throw M and Sis a bone from the doggy treat box. Great stuff here folks! Gary, you look fabulous-- I think purple would have looked good on you. (((smile))) Karen |

These are wonderful! Great to see you all have real flesh and hair and eyes! What is Steve, some kind of giant, or did the rest of you send miniatures of yourselves? (Just kidding) Hey it's great to show what Wild is, and what it can do. We need to believe that the world can be a good place for poetry. “Any step of art is a breathtaking step into abyss”- michael julius sottak (Wild Poet)

Dearest All -- thank you for sharing in the photos and joining the fun. resuri -- the Official Commemorative WPF Purple Panny Party Hat is available in all your major department stores. Sized to fit every conceivable fanny . . . err . . . head size. Just ask any store clerk -- they will definitely know what you're talking about and will NOT call security *uh-huh!*. Chris -- we waited and waited for you. Where were you? Carol -- well, you know what they say. If the purple panny party hat fits, wear it! *grin* Dale -- animal print??? What animal print??? *LOL* Karen -- personally, I think Deborah and E were planning a coup d'etat to wrest power from the current Wild puppet regime. *smile* Laz -- shhhh, we don't mention steve's height. He has "issues." Confidentially speaking, he's only 3'7". He made us all dig a hole and stand in it while he stood on the head of some guy in the back looking for a book on the lower shelf. *LMAO* Love, M

Actually, I was trying to figure out where to stand so that the floor wouldn't squeak and disturb the reading. So, instead of mad plotting with E, I was simply trying to figure out how to be quiet....you'd think this wouldn't be hard for a haiku poet... lol

LOL, yes that very unique floor did squeek didn't it. I think we all had the same problem Deb. *lol* Carol- So what are you saying? I have a big mouth? ROFL! Thank you so much for coming so far to be with us and for your heart felt comments. And yes, E very nearly had me in tears. It was a magical night that ended way too quickly. Oh my, these pictures! I have a writing prompt for you folks. Here goes: How do you get a room full of strangers to wear purple, panties (pannies) on their heads? There is one thing I would like to mention. I know you folks have seen M and I and perhaps a few others type panties as pannies. This is a purposeful mispelling. *lol* Part of our creative writing history on this site is to interact with each other virtually. Using imagination to create instances and scenarios we create moments in time from a visual perspective. This includes selective language use to evoke those images. This purple pannie party hat concept was created in just such a fashion and it is why we keep mispelling it. :-) For those who want to know. *lol* wolf hugs and lifesavers, Sis } |

A writing prompt (how to get a room full of people to wear panties on their head) LOL I actually have a story: Many moons ago I worked in a famous restaurant owned by a man named Johnny Esparza. Johnny was a perv, in the nicest sense of the word. He was also a penny pincher. One evening I made a deal with him, I told him I'd show him the thong I was wearing for twenty dollars. He knew I was a trickster, so he questioned me well. "You're wearing the thong?" "Yes, I am wearing it right now." "Where will you show me?" "In the cooler," I answered. He said okay to this deal, and, I asked for the money upon entering the cooler with him. His eyes were glassy and I swear there was drool. I reached up and pulled the cloth tie off my ponytail and Viola! it was my thong. God! I loved that job. (((smile))) Karen (Message edited by klhmonahan on May 12, 2006) |

The pics were a blast! Thank you for sharing. Someday, I hope we have our poetry club up and running in our little town. Virtual is cool, but flesh and blood is so nice. I appreciate the opportunity to come to Wild and that it exists and the fact that you have wonderful workshops. Blessings, kid |
