i made the mistake of submitting a poem to poetry.com many years ago...(and have been bombarded with e-mails ever since......i know most of you have run into these hucksters at some point)............. so today...i get an e-mail from "Noble House"... a purported London based publisher...........it smelled like poetry.com,
but they had actually read some poetry...or at least pretended to have.............haha... we all know how that flys.........But this was my first mail from them... I was curious if any of you were familiar with them, before I start unloading on THEM with both barrels....(some middle manager at poetry.com has probably kept all my love notes and is going to make him/herself rich on my various descriptions of how to pivot on a variety of objects, possibilities and angles of insertion, my fondness of vipers & the ilk of humanity)

serious ?
(i don't want to bust down a door on a misperception....i've done that before! hehehe!..

but maybe this is just a "Hey, duck!")

hehehe, M.... i thought as much, but wanted to throw out the warning... (they were more clever than poetry.com)...... and i thought i'd get confirmation before i started blasting them out of the water..........sounded like poetry.com reconstituted (predators sucking on the vanity, hope, expectations of young or developing writers)

INCOMMING!

don't get me started on internet providers....
i've been comming in on msn, switching back and forth to aol............and losing all kinds of stuff! ....... it's insidious.....(not my computer, but it's convenient.... it took me days after plugging into this same computer...with my laptop... to debug it....... i thought i had a total crash.....lost everything!....not so... but... scared me... i want to keep my notes so my daughters can read them... you know... a history)

Julius, I do believe poetry.com still has a poem on there purporting to be written by Osama bin laden, it was still there last time I checked, I found it among the 9 11 poems, apparently poetry is one of his interests. How insensitive can they be to keep that on there!

Hi Julius

Beware of places with names like "Noble House" or "Vantage Press" or "Valiant Press" and so on -- places with high-sounding names like those examples generally are the ones that are out to get the gullible.

Julius,
Fortunately, through forums such as this, people can receive feedback from others to make an informed choice.
