Dear Poetry Fans, Poetry & Poets in Rags Happy new year to you all. I wish you the best for yourselves and, if you write, for your poetry this year. We begin the year headlining Language poetry, and such experimental writing in a social context. I hope you like it. If you want to follow up with a different point of view, Frank Wilson posted a link to a Joan Houlihan article in Books Inq here: "I suspect . . ." We follow that with two "First Chapters" of biographies from The New York Times. Articles six through eleven in our News at Eleven section all have whole poems in them. So do many of our Great Regular articles, including a couple from The Guardian for the New Year. Perfect timing for us. Thank you for clicking in and reading. And a special thanks to David Ayers, our IBPC President, who each week puts up with the varying times I get this column done, and posts it on the IBPC site. Yours, Rus Our links: Poetry & Poets in Rags IBPC Home IBPC Newswire ~~~~~~~~~~~ |

. On the experimental, Language, post-Language poetry discussion, Meg Porter of Desert Moon Review mentions Ron Silliman's blog. Click on the comments on his "Sunday, January 01, 2006" entry for a good volley of comments, that takes off on Joan Houlihan's article. . |
