Dear Poetry Fans, Poetry & Poets in Rags Something extraordinary. We link to seven articles fom The Guardian this week, and that's out of 25 total in all three sections. That's the most ever from any one newpaper in any week yet, and it was inevitable since our two new sections, "Great Regulars" and "Poetic Obituaries" increase the total number. The Guardian also has at least one article in each section. Now something uncanny. It's in our "Poetic Obituaries" section again. Remember the three articles with people who quit tea, two obits, a few weeks back? This week, two published poets who died were better known as cartoonists. I may be missing something, but in all the time I've been scouring the web for articles on poets, I don't remember encountering even one obituary on a poet/cartoonist. An important headliner this week, then we chain: Shi Tao, Phyllis Wheatley, Bob Dylan, T.S. Eliot, and Franz Wright, for openers. In the mix is the first murder in New Orleans since Katrina. Read all about it. Click in while the links are hot. Yours, Rus Our links: Poetry & Poets in Rags IBPC Home IBPC Newswire ~~~~~~~~~~~ |

Looks very good, a little back-pagish maybe. I'll put that in the mix for next week. Thanks, Lisa. By the way. Each Tuesday, I stop looking at noon--FYI & TWIMC. |
