Dear Poetry Fans,

Poetry & Poets in Rags

If you find yourself reading a new and excellent article to do with poetry that just got published on the web, one that does not show up on a news.google.com search, I may not be picking it up in my searches. Please send it along to me at lowelldude@aol.com. This week, thanks to Michael Virga, participant at several IBPC forums, we have an excellent "insider" article from The New York Observer.

It was one of those weeks, when the volume of top-notch articles on poetry made it difficult to narrow the field to the eleven for our "News at Eleven" section. With five of our "Great Regulars" showing this week, plus three "Poetic Obituaries," that makes a total of nineteen articles, many of them "headliner" material. These include our friend The Guardian's "Poetry workshop" results that has Jude Goodwin making an extraordinary fourth appearance on the shortlist. A 50th anniversary in poetry is coming up, however, and that's where we begin.

Take your time, and read them all if you can.

Yours,
Rus
