Several folks have expressed interest in haibun. No better way to learn than to read the good stuff. Here is where you can do that: http://poetrylives.com/CHO/index11.html which is the webzine "contemporary haibun online."

Good reading and writing!

If you want to go to the fountainhead of haibun, that is Matsuo Basho. You can read the alpha text of haibun online! Matsuo Basho's "Narrow Road to the Deep North" Tr. by Nobuyuki Yuasa at http://terebess.hu/english/haiku/basho2.html

The arrangement of the haiku in 4 lines is unusual but remember, in Japanese, haiku were usually in a single line.

Enjoy!

Denis
