Dear Poetry Fans,

Poetry & Poets in Rags

Welcome, Chiaro-Oscuro!!--as of today, the newest poetry board in our IBPCommunity! A lot of thought and preparation has gone into the forums there. Click in and have a looksee.

Many of you have been participating in The Guardian's "Poetry workshop" each month. There will be none for June because, as that web page says, they've been "caught up with the Hay festival." I don't know if that means they've been working too long and hard, or playing too long and hard, but either way, it's a great excuse to take the month off.

This past week Warren Norwood, who was a very strong contributor on IBPC poetry forums, died. His obituary is placed thematically as the others within the links of this week's Poetry & Poets in Rags, even though it is sort of "IBPC-selfish," from my placing it there--no matter if you think he should be amongst this year's great poets of the world who have died and made the exclusivity of P&P in Rags or not. To compensate for this loss of objectivity that I strive for each week, we have twelve links to news articles, instead of the usual eleven. It might not be a bad time for the many non-IBPC readers of Poetry & Poets in Rags to look up the poetry of Warren C. Norwood. And, please, for the future, let me know of other such IBPC obits.

Enough announced already, and I haven't gotten to what's driven through the articles this week, riveting us to the pages. You may not be able to put this issue down. Answer me this: what is the question? It's in our headliner from The Guardian, like you may not have quite asked it before. That headliner, is either a great lead-in or a great backdrop to most if not all of the articles to follow.

Yours,
Rus
