Dear Poetry Fans,

Poetry & Poets in Rags

I am very pleased to bring you this week's P&P in Rags. There's something of May in it, with all the talk of flowers, landscape, seascape and love, to the point of remarkable coincidence when some specifics are considered. And you'll see, the articles are arranged somewhat thematically, so that you may perseverate from one article among the next and previous. But as much as this, I find arching through, themes addressing the poet as integral with necessary experience and surroundings. It is only right, then, that our back page article stretches us from this poet's integration to the poet's solitude.

Please pay attention to the links to the excellent poems at the beginning of article #4. That's the one from William & Mary News. The article is about the poets who were given awards for their poetry, from the American Academy of Poets. Another remarkable coincidence, because poets.org/forum (for you newer members, an original "founding" poetry forum of IBPC), is back. And as of yesterday, all the old usernames were loaded in. If you cannot post there yet, hopefully soon.

But first, we open with our headliner, an important obituary from the New York Times.

Yours,
Rus
