Dear Poetry Fans, Poetry & Poets in Rags Way-ay-ay up n-n-north in the Arctic Circle around 80N on Ellesmere Island in Nunavut, Canada, the musk oxen only gather in groups of eleven, or multiples of eleven, because they can evidently count--and eleven feels right to them. Poetry & Poets in Rags is in tune with the spirit of the musk oxen. Yup. There's been a tension these last few weeks south of the Arctic Ocean, being over eleven, but everything is right now. We have eleven worthy articles, no matter how far south of 80N you may be. Our headliner comes from Wales. They have a new national poet. Our back page is "Moniza Alvi's workshop," which I posted a link to earlier in the day. (Eleven million eleven thousand and eleven thanks to Sarah Crown, books editor at The Guardian for doing this workshop. Send her an e-mail and tell her she's your hero and you love her or something.) I'll leave the others to your discovery, except to point out that just before the back page, for articles 9 and 10, watch for important links. That Gnoetry one, at the end of the tenth article can easily be missed. You get sent to a main page and must find "Gnoetry" on the left. If you follow through to Gnoetry, and then get three clicks from where you started, you will find a download with which you can create your own gnoetry. I haven't tried it myself, but plan to. Thanks. And enjoy. Yours, Rus Our Links: IBPC: Celebrating Poetry Month Poetry & Poets in Rags IBPC Home IBPC Newswire |
