Admins, Mods... a question regarding protocol and etiquette for you, specific to the Wild Poetry Forum.

Is it not the policy of this site to (as much as is possible) post only one post per poetic topic per day?

While it may be defensible in many cases (discussion/practice forums, etc.) to respond more than once in some of the Wild Forum Topic areas in any given 24 hour period, it is, at least, for this reader and writer, sometimes difficult to keep up with a given writer and respond intelligently when said writer posts so many times in a single poetry topic area in such a short period of time.

Would not anything else be considered "bad form?"

I just know I'm missing out on a lot of good stuff but who could keep up (or would want to?!) when some writers feel so compelled as to post as many as ten posts in a single forum on a given day!

It's hard enough to work, live, eat, breathe, catch the latest headlines, etc. etc. etc. much less - well, hopefully you get my drift.

Not to mention the fact, there are so many fun forums and places and topics on this site to explore - kinda get to spread your wings that way too - not get stuck in the same old rut or box either!

:-)

I did visit the rules of the site, perhaps they have changed and I didn't realize it or they haven't been updated yet?

Respectfully and Best Regards,
Tina Hoffman

Hi, Tina -- the FAQs explain our policies. I don't know when you last reviewed them, but you might want to check again in case I've updated them since you last read through them.

We can only make suggestions on etiquette and protocol. Which we've done. We don't have the staff to police things and make sure everyone is adhering to the guidelines. We recommend people limit posts of poems to one a day in any particular forum, but there's no limit on number of comments. We want people commenting -- a lot. Comments are what keep things vibrant and active around here. If we limited comments, things would dry up and blow away.

We don't expect everyone to read all the commentary. I assume people mostly read the comments on their own pieces and things here and there in ESSENTIAL OILS.

Wild is a big place, Tina. There are lots of active members. I think I'm the only one crazy enough to think she can keep up with it all.

I'd recommend just tracking what's important to you and letting the rest go. Unless you want to sit here for 12 hours a day like I do. 'Cause that's what it would take to read it all, and even then I miss stuff.

That's the problem with a popular site. You have to bite off what you can chew. And hope everyone adheres to guidelines and recommendations. If you start making too many "rules," people rebel, and policing gets to be impossible.

Love,
M

I propose that those posting more than one poem per day be waterboarded and then banned, myself excepted of course.

Freddy, I've gotten waterboarded for not posting enough. I nearly, purely, did drown. And for that very reason my brain has been water-soaked in the vocab area, and I cannot keep up with a poetic snail.

BUT, other than the water, that board thing was rocking!

someday I'll find it, the rainbow connection, for lovers, and dreamers, and me
