The first time I heard Coleman Barks reciting(my first ever "taste" of) Rumi...I heard and understood (for what I felt was the first time...) true clarity of thought and expression (Rumi, that is). Although I still own not a single (personal) sample (CD, etc.), he walked gently up and took his place at the top of my pantheon of Timeless Heroes. I keep him in my heart forever, now...even without much further exposure.
