I got a 3.97.

Right after this, a line segment streaked out of the LCD display panel on this laptop and hit me in the forehead.

By the way, 3.97 was my high school GPA. (4.0 was the max on those days, so I was one of three class valedictorians.) Weird, eh?

I am not surprised. I got 5.9. Not so good. But I live to fight again. Maybe in the morning. LOL. I figured you'd knock this one out.

I got 11.42 and was so excited...until I read that LOWER is better....oops....my bad. Not really my forte anyway, regardless, it was an enjoyable waste of time. Thanks.

Hi Fred, tried again, and got 5.1. Guess I'm at my peak. I fully expect you to get 3,14159 on your next try.

You can have your pie, and I'll just get cake.

Hahahahahaha.

I found out there was a good reason I only was able to pull out a C - in geometry. :-)

M, a parellelogram is a love message from an engineer, there being no higher form of admiration. It doesn't make you fat like a candy gram, wilt like a flower gram, or need to be tethered like a balloon gram. It is enourmously instructive while at the same time completely blank, it's two impossible things at once, like Schroedinger's cat. LOL

Disclaimer, no offense to engineers, they have a sense of humour about such things, tho some may not, just like the rest of us. Sorry in advance.

Thanks for the detailed explanation, sue. It heps a lot, yup, yup. Two impossible things at once, huh? Hell, I turn myself into that hepcat nearly every day. Or at least people think I can. *LOL* Now, the next time someone asks me for a parallelogram, I'll know what to send. BTW -- how much postage does it take to mail a 130 lb. woman? Here's my new tag line --" M. She bring up the rear in parallelogra~M~ and she's just another empty love message." Good, huh? *LMAO*

Love,
M

M. somehow I don't see
you fitting neatly
inside lines
that don't meet.

Be there or be square
isn't a complete
picture. I think
you're more a hologram
which is a whole other
gram that simply means,
Be. There.

LOL......

That is fun, thank you Sue. :-)

3.6 after two goes. Need some work on bisecting angles to get better. Might try again, it's pretty fun.

Jeffrey, it's very simple, though even I use shortcuts (and thus flub it.)

You measure along the two sides that make up the angle. Say, on the computer screen, you measure off 2" from the tip of the angle to two points, one on each of the sides.

Then you join those two points with a line. This creates an equilateral triangle consisting of two 2" sides and a third side you've just drawn.

Measure that line with a ruler. Exactly halfway along that line is where the "bisecting line" should pass.

Most people will just "eyeball" the connecting line between the sides, but it is useful to use a real ruler to find the midpoint of this line, because the more accurate you are the closer you'll be to bisecting the angle.

* * * * *

You can also use a compass. Place the fixed point of the compass on the tip of the angle, and rotate the compass in an arc that intersects both sides of the original angle. Note where the arc segment intersects the sides. These are your two reference points.

Then proceed as per the previous explanation.

Thank you, Fred.

Sadly, both ruler-aided scores came out over 4. Apparently I am better off eyeballing than actually trying to measure anything. ;) I tried another sans ruler after that and scored a 3.64 (my prior low was 3.61)... oh well. Hehe.

This was my third try. I don't use the fancy method outlined above, although "off computer" it would work fabulously. I just eyeball.

My score: 2.82

Fred, I tried this am fresh with a full jolt of caffeine, and managed to make it to your side of the bell curve. (3.6) I don't use any tools either.

But of course you are still accelerating. I think I am going to quite while I'm here. Tomorrow, I'll be stupid again. LOL.

Do as I do, Sue. Drink a quart of espresso every morning -- then go out and conquer the world. As the day wears on, lose your grip on the world. Finally subside into a reluctant detente with the other chiefs and warriors. The next day, repeat the whole process.
