Dear Poetry Aficionados, IBPC: Poetry & Poets in Rags The InterBoard Poetry Community is welcoming Tony Barnstone as our poetry judge for the summer. Sure a little after Labor Day, but July's results were put up this week, just as we prepare to send September's entries to him. Congratulations to Linda Cable of Wild Poetry Forum for her "Feast of Disappointments" taking first place! Coming in second, workshopped at The Critical Poet (dot com) , was Ange Law's "Seventeen, Before the First Time." And third place went to "Roots" by Ken Ashworth of The Writers Block. Receiving HMs were "Drowse" by Bernard Henrie of Poets.org; "Aftertaste" by Brenda Morisse of Wild Poetry Forum, and "Sleep" by Tom Allen of Poets.org. A huge Poetic Obituaries section. In the 5-plus years of Poetry & Poets in Rags, I don't think we have ever had 21 before. One of these deaths is Ahmed Faraz. An article about him also appears in our News at Eleven section. And a Great Regular for this column, and good friend to IBPC, Belinda Subraman's father has died. So I haven't mentioned our headliner, nor our Back Page story, nor any of the good poetry to be found in our News at Eleven and Great Regulars sections. It's all for you to discover.
