From Mid-American Review

Love,
M

-----------------------------------------------

Hello Everyone!

I'm writing to let you know that MAR's third Online Workshop begins this coming Monday, August 11th and runs for 9 weeks. Some slots are still available, but they are filling fast.

The Online Workshops give writers a chance to have their work critiqued in a friendly, constructive environment. In addition to the general workshopping, the group will also have various informative and even heated discussions about publishing, including tips, suggestions, and general chatter.

Lastly, the workshops thus far have built relationships, between the writers and editors of MAR, yes, but also between the participants. Many of the writers have kept in touch and have continued to read each other's work since the workshop has ended.

If you or anyone you know is interested in signing up for the MAR Online Workshop, or even just more information, send me an e-mail at mikeczy@bgsu.edu. I'd be happy to answer any questions you might have.

Have a good one!

Ah, Freddie. Sometimes you get what you pay for. Of course, caveat emptor. However, Mid-American Review is a very well respected journal. It is an international literary journal dedicated to publishing the best contemporary fiction, poetry, nonfiction, and translations. MAR is an official publication of the Department of English and the College of Arts & Sciences at Bowling Green State University. Writers such as Carl Dennis, Rita Dove, Stephen Dunn, Linda Gregg, Yusef Komunyaka, Philip Levine, Mary Oliver, Richard Russo, William Stafford, James Tate, Melanie Rae Thon, David Foster Wallace, and C.K. Williams have all appeared in MAR.

I suspect they are pretty trustworthy and their online workshop might indeed be worth the cost.
