Dearest Membership -- You all need to drop whatever you are doing right now and go out to the newsstands to buy the June 2007 issue of Writer's Digest, one of the premiere magazines for writers and those connected to the writing life. Wild Poetry Forum (that means us and you) was selected as one of the magazine's 101 Best Websites for Writers in their ninth annual listing. The article by Brian A. Klems and list can be found starting on page 68: "101 Best Website for Writers -- if you save one list all year, this is it. It's our annual roundup of websites. No matter what you're looking for -- writing groups, inspirational tips, legal advice -- these websites will give you what you need to succeed." We are listed as one of only four websites in the Poetry category (page 75). This is pretty stunning news since they shift through hundreds of sites to choose the 101 most valuable. Being on this list is not a given. Our thanks and many blessings go to our founding mothers -- Sis and Jag for giving us all the gift of Wild Poetry Forum in the first place. Then those thanks go out to the staff and the members who have worked with us so diligently all these years to make Wild the terrific community that it is. We know that without our exemplary moderators and talented membership, Wild's success simply would not be possible. Our deepest appreciation goes out to every one of you for putting Wild on the map. I know it's been said a lot on this thread, but WOW! What a terrific honor! Congratulations to all of you who have kept this site vibrantly alive over all these years. This is precisely the kind of thing we were hoping for when we started Wild all those long years ago. Congratulations to M and all the crew, past and present, who has maintained Wild and ensured that this community keeps up with the original goals and standards. Most of all, congratulations to every single writer for their continued loyalty, and enthusiastic participation. No matter how hard anyone works behind the scenes, without any writers, Wild just doesn't exist! Thank you, as well, to those who read the site. What a well deserved recognition. I am always amazed at the level of critique, as well as the writing here. I am trying to reconstruct my profile, but honestly when I have to list my fave poets, I'm just happy with Wild poetry. It's a great site for readers. And I'll let the writers testimony speak..... Hearty thanks to all who make this place work. regards |
