Dearest Membership -- Yes, the rumors are correct. The hackers came back for another go 'round early this morning. I will repeat for any of you who didn't see this the first time: one of the consequences of Wild being hacked is that your profile might have been affected. This does not apply to everyone. Only random profiles were hit. Some will have had their posting number and membership level reduced to zero; for others, the profile has disappeared entirely.

If this has happened to you, let us know. We're depending on you to make us aware.

Just mention it here in this thread or drop us a note at adminwpf@wildpoetryforum.com if you can't post at all. We'll get to it ASAP.

Love,
M

P.S. If your profile is completely missing, please also note what your username was or what you want it to be if you want something different so we don't have to search through old postings to find you. Sometimes the username is different than what we normally call you, so giving us a heads-up on the username helps save time.

Since you were still able to post, my sister, I assumed you meant your Post Number. I updated it, but if you're having trouble getting in or anything, let us know.

Oh, and you're welcome to everyone else. Thanks for your patience. This is driving us all mad, believe me.

Much Love,

M, I'm gone again. I can't post in general light critique. It's been two horrible weeks.

Kathryn,

I took a look at your profile, and it seems to be there and functioning. Are you still unable to post in CV?

Can you please email me and let me know?

best,

Dearest Kathryn -- if you can post here in ESSENTIAL OILS, that means your profile is intact and you should be able to post anywhere within Wild. Your profile can't be half on and half off.

If you mean that you can't access Wild, make sure your bookmark is set correctly. We had an IP address change. Click here to learn more:

Important Note about Access

Do let us know if you continue to have problems and be specific about what you can and can't do. We'll check into things further. BTW -- it's always good to check the messages on ESSENTIAL OILS occasionally. This is where we give people important system-related information.

M

A suggestion- You might do a general mailing to all subscribers telling them how to find Wild again in the event of a hacking. If they don't know about the hacking they might be sitting outside somewhere not knowing it's just a simple matter of retyping the address. You might also note that a quick way to get logged in is to go to "edit profile" and click "save settings." That way your settings for logging on go back to what they were if they weren't tampered with.

Hi guys - I am having trouble printing on CV and Balancing Q (haven't tried others yet). The problem seems to be that the topic never completes loading. Anything I should change? Thanks~~

Dearest Laz -- thanks for the suggestion, but unfortunately, e-mailing the entire membership doesn't work very well. There are a lot of people on our membership list who've given us e-mail addresses that either aren't valid anymore or were never valid in the first place. If we try to do a general mailing to the entire membership, every e-mail that can't be delivered comes bouncing back to us, clogging up the backend and making much more work for us. At a time when the system is already a bit de-stabilized, this extra burden is not a good idea.

So, we have to depend on warning people before any system updates. The change of Wild to a new IP address was not the result of the hacking. We put up a note to warn everyone at least a week in advance. That's why it's always a good idea to at least skim ESSENTIAL OILS once a week for important notes from us. And if anyone is having difficulties, all they have to do is write us and we explain it. Even if they can't get into Wild, there's always e-mail. Believe me -- practically no one just sits out there wondering why they can't get in to Wild. They write me, sometimes before I know there's a problem myself. *smile* Handling these few letters is much easier than dealing with volumes of undeliverable mail.

Dearest penny -- I've just tried to print from a number of forums, and everything is working fine. I believe it might be a problem on your end. Please reboot your computer and give it another go. If it's still not working after that, let us know.

Love,
M

M I can still post but yesterday I filled in the gaps in my profile, poets and writers I like,
my preference on critique, quote etc and this morning it has all disappeared again!
The hacker is still around.
