~~~~~~~~~~~ I have just received the following e-mail from Trace Estes, and am very sorry to hear this news: ~~~~~~~~ I'm sure many people have already sent you this, but an IBPC poet--Richard Zola passed on the 22nd. He was an awesome poet and many people will miss him. Trace Date: October 23, 2005 1:48 AM Subject: Long Live Zola Richard died today (Saturday 22) at around 11:35am in the Pasque Hospice in Luton UK. He collapsed on his way to work on 28 July 2005, and was two months later diagnosed with cancer of the pancreas which was far advanced. All the hospice nursing staff were fantastic. We were looked after extremely well. I was with him all the way through to the end. We had a room with a French window and the two hospice cats came to visit us every day. This is extremely sad news, rus, but I thank you for sharing it. I had the pleasure of corresponding with Richard many years ago, but lost contact. I very much admired his work and asked if I could feature one of his poems on my website. He was very cordial and agreeable. Though I hadn't spoken to Richard recently, I will miss him. I have very fond memories of him as a friendly, warm and engaging man. I send my sincerest condolences to his wife and family. Thank you, Richard, for leaving the world some truly fine poetry. With Regret, M | ||

Hi Rus and M Thanks you so much to both of you for sharing this information about Richard Zola and the fine poem, M. He will be missed. Does anyone know how old he was when he died?
