Dear Poetry Fans, Poetry & Poets in Rags We headline this week, with an nicely-done article that addresses the Danish cartoons that have been in the the news, by bringing Rumi into the conversation. Of our next ten news items in News at Eleven, several are instructional or address a poem's inception or the writing process. And, among the others stories, if you haven't considered the poets Whittier and Heine for a while, today's the day. A great mix, including a couple articles on two poets with Japanese heritage, separate stories on writers with different missions, one from British Columbia and another from Oregon, who were forced by their countries to leave their homes during WWII. Notice in our Great Regulars section, four articles from The Monroe Times. I just caught on, to their "Poets Corner", and could think of no reason not to include the previous three weeks-worth of links we missed. They ask for e-mails, to grade the poems they present, a nifty idea I thought. Some of us were recently following the discussions on plagiarism, at among other places, at The Gazebo here: Plagiarism; and at Books Inq. both here: The sting of fakery ... and here: More literary fraud?. A very interesting case of what looks to be a false accusation has occurred. That is the eighth news article we link to this week.
