Why is it that when you use the indent command, it puts spaces between the lines? like this right here how do i get around this? it is annoying. "we saw ourselves now as we never had seen" -Ian Curtis | ||

hi elijah Yes, it's kinda complicated. The first issue is that the 'tab' key here goes to the next field and doesn't work like a true text tab. First of all, the indent function does work for block quotes in which the entire paragraph is indented. You would type this: \indent{all of your text here} To just indent the first line or one line/several lines in the middle of a poem or to retain any special formatting you've got for the poem, the easiest way is to format the poem the way you want in MS Word (or any word processing software) and then paste it into the New Message box. Then above your text type this: \pre{\font{georgia, \0{ and at the end of your text type three of these: }}} The '0' is zero and don't use any extra spaces. Let me know if you have any other probs. Oh, you can go directly into the message box using the same command, just use the space bar to position your text, but that doesn't work quite as well. here is a sample:
